So you want to know what is in style for high fashion foot wear in 2008. Well here is what I found: for the ladies it is all about straps and height. We are not talking about one or two straps it is more like five or six different sizes and shapes. Bold and beautiful and yes metallic is still in! All of the new spring collections are very sophisticated with a lot of modernism thrown in. They take you back to the 70’s or 80’s but they have a lot more style now then ever before. Paired with a grey or blue dress these shoes draw all the attention to them!
Ralph Lauren is not afraid of color and his new style incorporates bright pinks and yellows for spring 2008. These bright colors are added into his collection along with black to create his own modern style. Now you won’t catch me in these styles. I am still getting used to walking with a higher heel. Also I don’t think I even own anything that is bright yellow or pink. Maybe I need to step it up with my shoe style, but for right now I am happy. My next step is to purchase some pointy toed shoes that I can walk in!
Ok, all you guys out there, there are 10 trends that are back in style for 2008 according to market research studies. The first is the broken in, distressed, denim blue jeans. Now if they have not been worn in a while be sure to throw them in the wash before you wear them! The great thing about this style is it is in style to wear them over and over again, saving you some ching! Next is the high water trouser. The rolled up pant look is all over the runways this spring! Don’t forget the pomaded hair look, gel is in! The traditional briefcase is back to be swapped out for that old rugged backpack. The button down polo is back but do not try to add a bunch of funky prints or stripes to it, it is all about solid colors. The return of tweed made suits will add some texture to your summer. The 37mm time piece is in and for sure not to be missed on your wrist! The sweater vest is back we call it the revenge of the nerds! The non-khaki trench is in style so stay clear of the tans when you are going trench coat shopping, instead look for grey or powder blue! Last but not least put some color back in to your step with you guessed it colored shoes!
What is in style for active wear? When you are headed to the gym, out the door for a run, or to your community exercise class what are the sports wear you and other people are wearing?
I know that when ever I am on my way out the door for a work out I can not go anywhere with out a good supportive sports bra and some comfy exercise yoga capries. Capries are great because of there length, you do not get too hot or too cold but you stay the perfect temperature while working out. I see a lot of ladies who are now sporting the new capri look!
My fiancé can not walk out the door with out his sweat band, his favorite Nike plus shoes, and his Nike sweat resistant workout shirt. The sweat band keeps the sweat out of his eyes. His Nike shoes and shirt both provide him extra comfort. He chooses to work out in shorts because he always gets too hot in long pants and he would not be caught dead in capries! I have never seen a man wearing capries!
I would say for active wear there are a lot of choices but it is all about flexibility, support and maintaining a comfortable temperature!
What is street fashion? The definition of street fashion is the concept that the style emerged from grass roots instead of a studio. A good way to see what is the latest street fashion is to look around when you are out and about and take note of what people are wearing. If it looks like they put together the outfit themselves and you are not familiar with any of the brands they are wearing, it is more then likely street fashion.
Sometimes when I look around at the people around me I wonder if they even looked in the mirror before they left there house! The most common outfits I see when I am out and about are causal jeans and t-shirts. This is a comfortable look that anybody can get away with! I would say that it is a little of both street fashion and studio fashion. This depends on the brand of jeans and also they brand of t-shirt.
I think that I am a combination of both most of the time. Sometimes I like to create my own out fits from the selection in my closet and other times I like to look at what the latest trends are from the studios. It is up to you what you choose to wear.
I love belts! Even though I do not own very many myself, I am working on getting more into my style collection. What are the most common belts that are in style? Do I own any of the current styles? Well here is what I found out…
The style for belts ranges from fat belts to thin belts and colorful belts to the basics. My favorite trend is the belts that sit right on your waist, especially when it is worn with a plain tank top and is just added to spice up the outfit. I do not own one of these belts but I am working in it!
The other type of belt that is in style right now is the very thick belts. You can wear them with dresses around the waist, or with your favorite blouse to add some shape. I do own one of these belts. I got it for my birthday last year from my sister that lives in New York. Sometimes I have a difficult time finding outfits to go with it but it is always fun to wear.
Well next time you are out shopping be sure to look for these trendy styles of belts!
I had so much fun researching fashion mistakes; I took the time to find more! Here is what else I found to be a fashion no no:
Never wear messed up shoes. Your shoes should always complete and compliment your outfit, so take good care of them. If they are old and falling apart, take that as a sign to go get some new shoes!
Having bad roots is never a good thing! If you color your hair make sure to maintain the color. It is never a good sign if you can tell that you color your hair! It is one of those things that you always want your hair color to look as natural as possible and that means no roots!
Make sure when wearing a sleeveless top that your bra straps do not show. Also always make sure that your bra provides the specific support and fits correctly. There is nothing worse then a bra that does not provide correct support.
I do not care what anyone says mismatched pantyhose are out! If you are wearing a different color of pantyhose then the rest of your outfit this is not a good sign. Make sure that the color you choose matches and compliments your look.
Last but not least do not wear inappropriate clothing. Avoid flashy clothing unless you are in a profession that warrants flashy attire. Never wear too short of skirts, low cut tops, or anything that is considered the color neon!
I hope this additional list helps you make the right fashion choices!
Do you ever wonder what are the most common mistakes when it comes to style? I found out that the number one fashion faux pas is when people wear the wrong colors! Wearing the wrong colors can clash with your skin tone and can really hurt someones appearance and drown them out! On the other hand the right colors can compliment someones skin tone and make them look brighter and more vibrant. So always make sure that your color scheme is helping your look not hurting your look!
The next most common mistake is wearing too much makeup! With the wrong amount of makeup you can make yourself look a lot older and more harsh, vice versa if you have just the right amount you can look younger and bring out the right features. If you have any question on what looks good for you many makeup counters offer free makeup consultations.
Wearing the wrong size of clothing came in third! Many people do not realize but wearing clothing that is too small can actually make them look bigger and does not compliment there appearance. You always want to purchase clothes by how they fit your body not by the size on the tag.
Chipped nail polish was the next mistake. Nail polish is supposed to flatter your nails. When your nails are chipped it reflects poor grooming and laziness! Next time your nail polish starts to chip off remember it is better to take it all off then walk around with chipped nail polish!
Last but not least old fashion hairstyles are a big no no! An old fashion hairstyle can cause you to be judged and not in a good way! Just from appearance people judge us on are age, education, status in society ect. So you always want to make sure you are keeping your hairstyles up to date.
I hope this helps you from making common style mistakes. Always be aware of what you are presenting to other people
One of my favorite accessories is jewelry! Jewelry can dress up any look. Even if you just have a pair of jeans on and a t shirt with the proper jewelry you can spruce up any outfit.
I used to never where jewelry on a daily bases, until just recently. My favorite piece of jewelry I own is my diamond engagement ring. I just got engaged about a month ago and I always wear it! I used to never where rings but since getting engaged I always have a ring on now!
The other type of jewelry I love to wear is necklaces. I own multiple necklaces, of all shapes and sizes. The fun thing about necklaces is you can get away with all types. When I was in the Bahamas this year I bought four necklaces. They all have unique shells on them, and they are all different in there own way. I bought a brown necklace, a pink necklace a black necklace and a silver necklace. If you ever go to the Bahamas I recommend checking out all of the different necklaces!
Next time you are heading out the door be sure to make sure to through on your favorite jewelry!
What are all the different styles of head wear? Head wear can range from your favorite baseball cap to a grass cowboy hat! I personally own a little bit of everything. I have a bunch of my favorite baseball hats that I love to wear when I am working out or going for a hike.
I own a collection of more stylish hats. One of my favorite hats is a Volcome hat. It has a funky design on the side of it and it is army green. I can usually get away with wearing it with any outfit that has army green or similar colors in it.
I also have a collection of beanies. Now beanies are the type of headwear that I love to wear during the winter time. They always keep my head and ears warm in the cold. I own a variety of colors and styles. My favorite beanie is all black and fits my head perfectly. It matches almost everything because of the color and it always keeps me warm.
My other favorite type of head wear is visors. Visors are great in the summer time when you want to keep the sun out of your eyes but you do not want to wear a full hat. When my fiancé and I went to San Diego last summer we each got a visor.
Next time you are in the market for new head wear you should check out a couple of these options!
Well the sun is starting to come out and everyone is putting on there favorite shades. What is in style for sunglasses? Last year it was the big over sized sunglasses. I bought a couple different colors in this style! I like these sunglasses because they are very cute and flattering to a lot of different face shapes. Is this still the current trend? There are so many different shapes and sizes to choose from where do you even know where to start?
By looking at what is in the stores and online it seems that large sunglasses are still in charge. There are more variations of this style then ever before. Also you can get them in just about any color too! From white and black to maroon and blue. They come with more of a rounder look or you can have them more squarely. I like the rounder look. I think that the rounder look is a more stylish approach.
Whatever look you are after these larger shades seem to be sticking around. Next time you are in the market for sunglasses do not be afraid to try a pair on they might surprise you! I did and now I love the bigger style.
