Don’t let the cold weather be your excuse for sweats!

After my experience of walking to school and work everyday, I’ve come to realize that it is a lot harder to dress good, while staying warm too. It’s easy to find a comfort of a black North Face jacket, with plain jeans and Ugg boots…everyday.

But the problem with this look is that you become content with settling for less, and all the adorable clothes in your closet just become moot and you see them once in a great while, maybe for special occasions.

My goal this winter is to find clothing items that we women can rely on. Clothes that are cute, stylish, and of course, WARM. :) Take a look at my pics for this week that I found using magazines, articles, reviews, and my own personal shopping and buying!

1) A Wool Sporty Hoody - Find yourself a good fitted hoody that has a nice collar and buttons. One with a waist wrap and cuffed sleeves is preferred.

2) A thick shawl or scarf - Infinity scarfs are great because they are really thick, warm, and trendy. Choose a neutral colored scarf or shawl that you can wear with almost anything. Scarfs always look cute with a nice jacket and keep your poor neck safe from that wicked wind!

3) Warm High-top Boots - You can look in any direction and find women wearing boots nowadays. You can find really cute boots at almost any clothing store. My suggestion is to get at least one good pair of boots without a high heel that are suitable for all weather conditions. A pair of suedes that lace up are a good choice because the material is sustainable and the lace-ups are durable and add a fun edge versus the typical zip-up kind.

4) Weatherproof BIG bags - You need to fit everything in it, you need it to be safe in the rain. Find a good bag that you can carry your essentials in! And guess what? They don’t have to be an expensive leather bag. A fine-knit material is just as good in harsh weather conditions while walking outside. Get a bag that is black, brown, or gray so that water isn’t totally noticeable and so your bag won’t clash with what you’re wearing.

5) Convertible wool gloves - Have you ever tried to text or get money out of your wallet with super-cold hands? It’s nearly impossible! Get yourself a GOOD PAIR of gloves! (Not the $1 kind from Fred Meyers) The convertible ones are great because you can wear the mitten while walking from point A to point B, and flip back the ends to have the glove for times when you need your fingers.

In my opinion, you shouldn’t be afraid to spend a few extra dollars on good quality clothing items, especially when they are much needed to keep you warm! I think it’s extremely worthwhile to invest in items like the ones above. My travels have been much more enjoyable! :)

The Like and Dislike Stamp

like-stamp

Late last summer, a digital design studio out of the UK called Nation, came up with an idea to take advantage of the popular “like” feature on Facebook. They thought it would be funny to have a way to take the online “like” feature and apply it offline to their co-workers paperwork. What started out as a joke, turned into a full-fledged idea which became the “like” and “dislike” rubber stamp. It turned out to be a big hit as the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, bought some of these stamps for himself.

The problem many Americans found was the high costs of ordering these stamps from overseas. However, several U.S. based companies have found a way to bring the costs down and sell them domestically. I searched on the web doing some comparison shopping and stumbled upon Stamp-Connection, which offered a superior like and dislike stamp set at the best price on the web. For only $9.95, you could get a high quality 2 stamp set (pre-inked and self inking), shipped out the same day as your order was placed. They actually have a pretty creative selection of other specialty stamps I discovered while on their site. I think that the prices were so low because they are a manufacturer and retailer, so there were no high import costs or middle man involved.

What I love is that you get not only the like stamp of approval, but also a much needed “dislike” stamp of disapproval. I’ve always felt that Facebook needed a “dislike” too, because there are plenty of comments that I am not a fan of or even neutral about and I really want to express that with a dislike button. Now I can quickly mark my opinion on all sorts of things.

1. Biker brigade - That is right designers went hog wild with this trend. They took the original bikers jacket and turned it into a tough chick must have. A new look for a biker jacket by tapering the jacket and shortening the length.

2. Boudoir Crossing - All eyes are on the bust this fall. From lacy to leather this is a risky look to pull off!

3. Forties and fabulous - You guessed it - we are going back to the forties for fashion tips!

4. Party like it is 1983 - Getting a little closer to this generation - the eighties are full of metallic and acid wash jeans. Who can forget those looks? Apparently not all the latest designers.

5.  Ruche Hour - Drapes are back and bigger and better then ever. Layers are a must have along with enough fabric for extra draping.

6. Smart Investments - Can anyone say camel hair? Risky times call for risky measures - from camel hair suits to classic pin stripes.

How to Enhance your breasts (without surgery)

black-bra That’s right - you read it correctly. There are ways to enhance your breasts and you don’t have to go under the knife to do it! Check out these tips to help keep you looking perky!

1. Try buying undergarments that are engineered to help support you in the same areas you would get added support from surgery. A plastic surgeon “Dr. Rey” came up with an undergarment line that provides the same support as plastic surgery.

2. Whenever possible sleep on your back. You can actually develop deep wrinkles in your chest just by the way you sleep. It is also recommended to wear sunscreen and moisturizer to prevent unwanted wrinkles. Dr. Rey goes as far as suggesting a sleep bra to prevent sagging breasts in the future.

3. If you want to down play your cup size, wear colors and shapes of clothing to draw attention away from your chest.

4. If you have a big night coming up be sure to stock up on cookies or cutlets. Cookies and cutlets are little silicone inserts that can enhance cleavage if applied to the outer area of the breasts, they can add support and lift if applied to the bottom of the breasts and over the top if you need to create that perfect shape.

5. Don’t look past the old fashion push up bra. I know what you are thinking - but we have come a long way since the original push up bra.

6. Take the time to find the prefect bra to fit with your tops. The right bra can make a big difference.

7. Don’t be afraid to add bronzer to the girls. A little bronzer can go a long way.

8. Every girl needs the perfect cleavage cosmetic. You can find them at your local Macy’s. Benefit High Beam is recommended.

Good Luck Ladies I hope these tips help!

Dress 10 pounds Thinner

dressthinner What if I told you that you could look 10 pounds thinner just by the way you dressed! No tricks - just follow this list and you can instantly look 10 pounds lighter!

1. Wear the same color on the top as you have on the bottom. Matching colors can be a great way to disguise the last 10 pounds!

2. Dress to proportion - if you wear full and round shapes - you will look full and round. Always balance out your clothing by pairing a fuller skirt with a more fitted top etc.

3. Wear the right jacket! The right jacket is one that is hip length and has a sleek tailored fit. It will always take away inches from your waist.

4. Choose the right skirt. A good example is a pencil skirt. Make sure it is tight and slimming but not skin tight and unflattering.

5. Wear longer sweaters. A long sweater can make your torso look longer and make you appear thinner.

6. Dress up your Jeans with heals and a tucked in shirt. Celebrities use this trick all the time - that is because worn the right way it is a very slimming look.

7. Wear the right belt. With the right belt you can instantly take inches off your waist.

8. Buy a shift dress. This is the type of dress that is flattering on everyone.

9. Wear the color red. Not only is red a power color it can also be slimming.

10. Make sure your top never stops at the waist - this can add pounds. A top should always hit a little longer then the waist.

Good Luck ladies - I hope this helps :)

Fashion Do’s and Don’ts

This is such a great topic because we all know there are always the popular dos and don’ts of fashion. I caught an episode of the E channel and they had some pretty good advice. Lets start with a couple no brainer don’ts.

1. Don’t make the mistake of wearing too much bling. A little bling can go a long way and too much bling goes the wrong way fast!

2. Don’t wear too much make up. Have you ever noticed too much make up can make a beautiful person look fake and not as attractive? You never want to sell out your natural beauty.

3. Don’t let your thong show over the top of your pants. Now this is very important because some girls still try to pull this off and it is a big no no! Even men do not find this look the least bit attractive, instead it just looks trashy.

4. Don’t wear clothing that is not your true size. Now this can go either way, if clothing is too small it can make people appear larger then they really are and if the clothing is too big it can look frumpy and unflattering.

Now lets get into some fashion Do’s:

1. Do wear clothing that is the correct size for your body. This way ever outfit you wear is as flattering as it can be.

2. Do experiment with color. A little color can spice up any outfit.

3. Do wear the right amount of jewelry. Just remember a little touch of sparkle can go a long way.

4. Do change up your hairstyle at least once a year. Have you ever looked at a picture taken more then a year ago and thought to your self I still have that same due…

Well I hope this helps next time you go shopping or to your closet.

Street Fashion

What is street fashion? The definition of street fashion is the concept that the style emerged from grass roots instead of a studio. A good way to see what is the latest street fashion is to look around when you are out and about and take note of what people are wearing. If it looks like they put together the outfit themselves and you are not familiar with any of the brands they are wearing, it is more then likely street fashion.

Sometimes when I look around at the people around me I wonder if they even looked in the mirror before they left there house! The most common outfits I see when I am out and about are causal jeans and t-shirts. This is a comfortable look that anybody can get away with! I would say that it is a little of both street fashion and studio fashion. This depends on the brand of jeans and also they brand of t-shirt.

I think that I am a combination of both most of the time. Sometimes I like to create my own out fits from the selection in my closet and other times I like to look at what the latest trends are from the studios. It is up to you what you choose to wear.
