My New Hair Style

blonde-brown1I don’t know about you, but I love being a girl. No matter what time of the year it is, if I want to completely change my look I can change my hair color, get a hair cut and adjust my makeup accordingly and I feel like a completely different person.

I have been going back and forth whether or not to have long hair or short hair. I got married last August and I grew my hair out for a year for the wedding. So after the wedding the first thing I wanted to do was chop it all off - and I did!

Since I cut it off to about shoulder length, I have been letting it grow out ever since. It has been about six months so I finally have some length back. Now it comes down to this question - do I keep the look I have had for the last few months or should I start looking at new hairstyles?

My whole life I have always had the pattern to go blonder in the spring and summer time and darker in the fall and winter. The problem is I have been blond now since last summer and I am getting bored with it.

I think next time I go to the salon I am going to get a whole new look! I want to add a bunch of brown back into my hair and just give it a little more of an edge. The picture I attached is what I have in mind.

I will keep you all posted on how it goes…

Wish me luck!

Winter Weather Styles 2009

blackjacketWhen the weather gets cold - you have to keep dressing warmer. What are the winter weather styles for 2009?

Lets start with the most important layer - a good coat. Depending on your budget a nice coat can be anywhere from $100 - $1,000. I know it is a big price range, but remember you are going to get what you pay for. When looking at winter jackets there are a few things to keep in mind. First of all, you want it to be warm - the whole point of a jacket is to keep you warm and toasty. The second thing to consider is versatility. The more versatile the jacket the better - think of it like this, a black jacket vs. a bright colored plaid jacket - which one are you going to get the most use out of? Last but not least you have to remember a flattering fit. You do not want to look like a marshmallow! Choose a style that is flattering to your figure and your pocket book.

Once you have found the perfect winter jacket the next step is to find the perfect boots. During the wintertime a good warm pair of boots can provide good insulation all winter long. Whether you go with ankle boots or knee high boots make sure they are the right fit for you. This winter boots are hotter then ever - be sure to check out all the latest styles such as tie up boots, lace up boots and even cut out shoes!

So you have the shoes and the jacket it is now time to think about the perfect winter hat. I myself am a visor bean fan. They are warm, cute and very stylish. They are also very affordable. Not only do they come in a variety of colors and styles but they are very versatile and can be worn with just about anything!

I hope these styles give you a jump-start for your winter wardrobe!

Men’s Hair Styles for 2009

menshairstyle1

Have you looked around lately at how men are styling their hair? I have been keeping an eye out when ever I am out in public or watching the latest reality TV show for how the men are styling there hair. I notice that either the men have a clean-cut look, or somewhat of a rocker look. Both looks can be pulled off, but one look has been around a lot longer then the other. What is this new rocker look? If you ask me I really like it. I love when a guy is willing to step out of the box and have his own look. The clean-cut days are slowly disappearing while this new punk look is starting to be latest way to style your hair.

My fiancé has the clean-cut look and it does look good on him. I do think that after a while he should change it up a bit. Maybe grow it out a little and change up the way he styles it. Currently he has it short and spiky, which is a little longer then, a real short haircut. However I think it would be fun to see how he would look with longer hair.

Hair Styles for 2009

So what is in style for 2009? Well it is only the second day of 2009 so I can only guess. From looking at all the latest celebrity hairstyles I have noticed a couple trends. One of the trends I have noticed is the side swept bang. Now this is taking regular bangs to a whole new level. Don’t get me wrong ladies you still have bangs, but instead of them lying straight down they are off to the side. When going for this look there are a few things to be aware of:

1. Do not wear the bangs too long, as they will cover up one or both eyes!

2. Do not wear the bangs to short or they will not as stylish as they do with a little longer edge to them.

3. You do have to take the time to style them correctly or they will become a regular bang.

Another style that I am noticing is long barrel curls. Now how do you pull off the long barrel curls look? Well you either have to have a great curling iron, or a good set of hot rollers. I am in the middle of solving this mystery so when I find the answer I will be sure to let you all know.

Good luck for 2009, until next time…

Looking for a New Do?

I wanted to find out what are the most current hair styles for 2008. I was curious what was in style if you had short hair, medium length hair, or long hair. The reviews are in, read below to see what I found out!

If you have short hair the crop is always a good look. But this spring it is all about longer layers with your crop look. With the longer layers you add a lot of texture and volume. You can choose to straighten your layers, of piece them out with a little curl for a whole different look.

If you have medium length hair your goal is to go from sleek which still looks hot, to flair which is added a lot of soft curl to create extra volume. There are two different ways to wear this style. One way is to add a bunch of tight curls so your hair is curled up just above your shoulders, which can be worn during the day, or dressed up in the evening. The other way is to sweep the hair to one side for more of a formal look. You would use pins to keep all hair to one side and then have the front of the hair sweep across your forehead.

For the ladies with long hair sleek is always in style. For a sleek look you will need a flat iron and some shine products to achieve the over all look. The other way to go with long hair is barrel curls. Barrel curls can help thinner hair look thicker and add a lot of volume to longer hair. Each hairstyle can be worn during the day, or into the evening!
