Winter Weather Styles 2009

blackjacketWhen the weather gets cold - you have to keep dressing warmer. What are the winter weather styles for 2009?

Lets start with the most important layer - a good coat. Depending on your budget a nice coat can be anywhere from $100 - $1,000. I know it is a big price range, but remember you are going to get what you pay for. When looking at winter jackets there are a few things to keep in mind. First of all, you want it to be warm - the whole point of a jacket is to keep you warm and toasty. The second thing to consider is versatility. The more versatile the jacket the better - think of it like this, a black jacket vs. a bright colored plaid jacket - which one are you going to get the most use out of? Last but not least you have to remember a flattering fit. You do not want to look like a marshmallow! Choose a style that is flattering to your figure and your pocket book.

Once you have found the perfect winter jacket the next step is to find the perfect boots. During the wintertime a good warm pair of boots can provide good insulation all winter long. Whether you go with ankle boots or knee high boots make sure they are the right fit for you. This winter boots are hotter then ever - be sure to check out all the latest styles such as tie up boots, lace up boots and even cut out shoes!

So you have the shoes and the jacket it is now time to think about the perfect winter hat. I myself am a visor bean fan. They are warm, cute and very stylish. They are also very affordable. Not only do they come in a variety of colors and styles but they are very versatile and can be worn with just about anything!

I hope these styles give you a jump-start for your winter wardrobe!

Who Heated Up the Red Carpet for the 2009 Oscars?

anne-hathaway-2009-oscars1 It is a guilty pleasure of mine to watch the Oscars. I love to check out all of the latest looks put together by celebrities and then rate them.  This year the celebrity that stood out the most to me was Ann Hathaway. I loved the dress she was wearing and I thought that she really glowed in it. The dress was a breath taking Armani gown and fit her body perfectly.

My second favorite look was Natalie Portman. She chose a radiant pink chiffon strapless gown that really stood out. Bright colors can be risky if you do not choose wisely but Natalie chose a color that was very complimenting to her skin tone and make up.

My third pick for who heated up the red carpet was Alicia Keys. She also chose a lilac Armani gown and was not afraid of wearing a brighter color. I loved the cut of this gown and thought it looked amazing on her.

What were they wearing on the red carpet?

So I did not have a chance to check out the Golden Globe awards but I was able to read about what some of the celebrities wore and I was able to see pictures. You have to wonder what these actresses and actors are thinking when they are getting ready for such an event. For some of them they have done this time and time again so it is nothing new to them and for others it is there first time to prove them selves in public eye. Do some of the old timers just get board of looking normal, or is it that they want to make a statement?

For example Renee Zellweger…She is said to be the number one worst dressed at this event. She has been attending these events for years and she usually always looks stunning. Did she want to spice it up this year? Was she trying to get the award for worst dressed? By the dress she wore it is only natural to wonder! Another example is Glenn Close now she has been around the block a time or two but does that give her the right to dress like a ringleader of a circus? I love both these actresses but sometimes you really just have to wonder…

The Canns- What Were They Thinking?

The reviews are in from the 61st Cann festival and from the looks of the celebrity’s outfits there is a lot to talk about! I was just checking out the photos from the festival and you have to ask yourself if they knew what they were wearing when they left the house?

For example Madonna has a great figure, but with what she was wearing you would never know. She chose this long black dress that is shredded? It looks really crazy and out there. Then there is Sharon Stone in an all leopard print dress. Now this dress in my opinion should be left for the animals! Not to mention Rose McGowan’s very interesting dress that is all over the place! It looks like tons of different materials swirled together to create a ball room gown gone bad!

So there had to be some celebrities that were looking on the top of there style game… How about Julia Ormond she looked stunning in an emerald colored dress. Not to mention Mary J. Blidge in a beautiful flowing red dress.

Well I guess that about wraps it up for the Canns you have got the bad, the good and the crazy! You never know what people are going to be wearing anymore!
