Summer Wear for the 20 Somethings

Well it is summer time now and I have been doing a lot of spring/summer cleaning. One place I always like to start is my closet. My closet and I have been through a lot of clothes, over 20 years worth! I always have to bring out all of my summer clothing and hang them in the front of my closet. This is very handy because it prevents me from digging through my dresser drawers and making big messes when looking for what to wear.

The problem is I am running low on hangers because all of my summer clothes are usually folded in the back of my dresser! I am not used to having the majority of my clothing hung up. Also my summer clothes come in all shapes and sizes. That’s when I knew I needed to stock up on garment hangers! My summer clothes rang from sundresses to halter-tops but they are a great collection for staying cool in the summer time.

This summer I am seeing a lot of tube tops, tank tops and halter-tops. I am also seeing short shorts and skirts. I notice the fad being the more skin the better! Now this is not true for everyone…but if you can pull it off I say go for it! When you are in your 20’s you can usually pull anything off! :)

What Are The College Kids Wearing…

I graduated from college 4 years ago. It is hard to believe that 4 years has already passed by! When I think back to my college days and the clothing I would wear I see a little bit of a difference then what I wear today. When you are in college it is all about comfort! I see today’s college kids wearing a lot of jeans, sweatshirts and anything that is going to keep them warm and comfortable.

The reason they try to keep warm is the same reason I used to dress warm… it is cold in those classrooms! I remember even during summer time I would always have a sweater or sweat shirt just to keep me warm during class. When it does start getting really hot outside then you start seeing a lot more shorts, sundresses and tank tops. Again it is all about comfort but it is also about style.

I also notice a lot of brand names with college students. Even though most college students do not have much money they always seem to find away to dress in style. I remember when I was in college I was also working full time so I would always have a little extra spending money for clothes shopping.

Today on a good day you will find me in a nice business suit or nice pair of slacks. I think, as we get older we start to realize how important it is to dress professionally. As for the college students they will learn that lesson closer to graduation! J
