Well it is summer time now and I have been doing a lot of spring/summer cleaning. One place I always like to start is my closet. My closet and I have been through a lot of clothes, over 20 years worth! I always have to bring out all of my summer clothing and hang them in the front of my closet. This is very handy because it prevents me from digging through my dresser drawers and making big messes when looking for what to wear.
The problem is I am running low on hangers because all of my summer clothes are usually folded in the back of my dresser! I am not used to having the majority of my clothing hung up. Also my summer clothes come in all shapes and sizes. That’s when I knew I needed to stock up on garment hangers! My summer clothes rang from sundresses to halter-tops but they are a great collection for staying cool in the summer time.
This summer I am seeing a lot of tube tops, tank tops and halter-tops. I am also seeing short shorts and skirts. I notice the fad being the more skin the better! Now this is not true for everyone…but if you can pull it off I say go for it! When you are in your 20’s you can usually pull anything off!
I graduated from college 4 years ago. It is hard to believe that 4 years has already passed by! When I think back to my college days and the clothing I would wear I see a little bit of a difference then what I wear today. When you are in college it is all about comfort! I see today’s college kids wearing a lot of jeans, sweatshirts and anything that is going to keep them warm and comfortable.
The reason they try to keep warm is the same reason I used to dress warm… it is cold in those classrooms! I remember even during summer time I would always have a sweater or sweat shirt just to keep me warm during class. When it does start getting really hot outside then you start seeing a lot more shorts, sundresses and tank tops. Again it is all about comfort but it is also about style.
I also notice a lot of brand names with college students. Even though most college students do not have much money they always seem to find away to dress in style. I remember when I was in college I was also working full time so I would always have a little extra spending money for clothes shopping.
Today on a good day you will find me in a nice business suit or nice pair of slacks. I think, as we get older we start to realize how important it is to dress professionally. As for the college students they will learn that lesson closer to graduation! J
Every time I see a baby they are wearing a onesie. Onsie’s are great because they keep babies warm and cover up most of there little body. Also the kinds with the snaps are great for changing babies.
I also see a lot of babies with hats and headbands. My little nephew who is going to be one year old in August has some really cute hats. When are whole family went on a cruise to the Caribbean he always had a hat on. Hats are great for blocking the sun out of baby’s faces and they also give little babies a little style.
Headbands are great because they also add a little style to babies and they are especially good for little babies that do not have a lot of hair yet. They come is all shapes and sizes and also are good for keeping there head a little warmer.
One of my favorite things on little babies is shoes. There is nothing cuter then a little baby with miniature sneakers or little dress shoes! Every time I am at a store where they sell baby clothing and accessories I look at their shoe selection. I cannot wait until I have a little baby of my own that I can dress!
When you think of the word mom what comes to mind? Well fashion is not usually the first thing that comes to mind but I am seeing more and more hip moms. My mom is always wearing the cutest outfits. She has a great since of style and I think it has to do with the fact that she raised three girls! I get a lot of fashion ideas from her because we have similar body shapes.
My older sister is a new mom and she also has a great since of style. I see her wearing a lot of capri’s and cute tank tops and sweaters. She wears things that are comfortable for her like flip-flops and cute hats. I think for moms it is important that their clothing is comfortable that still maintains a level of style.
When I look around at other moms I see a lot of jeans, t-shirts, and flip-flops. When I am a mom I want to be sure to always look a little stylish but also be comfortable.
I have a young sister in New York and she wears nothing but high heals and super stylish clothing but for the moms out there I am noticing they leave the heals for only special occasions.
I went camping this weekend and there were a lot of kids at the camp ground we stayed at. While I was there I observed what the kids are wearing. A kid being anyone age 4 to 12 years old. I noticed that they were wearing anything that was comfortable and versatile.
I noticed a lot of layers with tee shirts, sweat shirts and jackets. Layering is always in style because it keeps you warm and you always have the option to take off layers. The other thing I noticed was patterns. Kids love to wear clothing with different colorful patterns. It is funny that at that age we are not afraid of any bright colors.
I also noticed a lot of kids wearing jeans. I do not think jeans will ever go out of style. Jeans are very versatile and comfortable I think at any age! Its nice to know they will probable never go out of style.
Next time you go shopping for kids clothing remember to look for outfits that are versatile and comfortable with a little style.
What are the teenagers currently wearing? When I was a teenager I used to wear a lot of different clothing. Depending on what time of year it was. One factor that affects what everyone is wearing is the time of year. It is heading into summer and I am seeing a lot of shorts and tank tops. When I was younger I used to wear a lot of brand name tank tops like gap and old navy. Now days I see a lot more Abercrombie Fitch and Holster tank tops.
When I was a teenager Abercrombie Fitch was just starting to get popular and I had never even heard about Holster until I was in my early twenties. There clothing is very similar and both brands have a very trendy look to them. You can find both of these stores in malls across America.
Another store that is very popular with the teenagers is Forever 21. I remember shopping there when I was in my early twenties and I am seeing there styles on a lot of teenagers lately. They carry anything form cute halter tops to capries. There styles are made to fit a more petite body, so you have to be pretty tiny to fit in to a lot of there styles.
It is funny to think that 10 years ago I was a teenager myself! Next time you are out and about look around and see if you can spot these brands!
The reviews are in from the 61st Cann festival and from the looks of the celebrity’s outfits there is a lot to talk about! I was just checking out the photos from the festival and you have to ask yourself if they knew what they were wearing when they left the house?
For example Madonna has a great figure, but with what she was wearing you would never know. She chose this long black dress that is shredded? It looks really crazy and out there. Then there is Sharon Stone in an all leopard print dress. Now this dress in my opinion should be left for the animals! Not to mention Rose McGowan’s very interesting dress that is all over the place! It looks like tons of different materials swirled together to create a ball room gown gone bad!
So there had to be some celebrities that were looking on the top of there style game… How about Julia Ormond she looked stunning in an emerald colored dress. Not to mention Mary J. Blidge in a beautiful flowing red dress.
Well I guess that about wraps it up for the Canns you have got the bad, the good and the crazy! You never know what people are going to be wearing anymore!
Alright ladies, I know we are all starting to think about Summer being right around the corner! But, what is in style for Summer 2008? I wanted to find out what I had to look forward to for summer styles and here is what I found: sheer fabrics are back and hotter then ever! Not to worry it is not all about see-through reveal everything style! It is about loose flowing tops, blouses and dresses that are layered and do not reveal too much! For this new Summer look be sure to stick to quality fabrics and classic colors to pull it off! What is really exciting is that womens clothing is now gearing towards making a women feel sexy and flirty, especially for the hot months ahead! The fabrics that create this confidence are lace, and sheer, and any fabric that flows well. Fashion trends for women are becoming ultra-feminine and focusing on styles with a lot of movement. I am excited to see womens fashion moving in this direction. I remember when having lace on a shirt was considered inappropriate! But those days are long gone and we are seeing more lingerie and sheer fabrics then ever before! I love it when I find a sexy top that I can dress up with nice slacks or a skirt and also be able to dress down with a pair of jeans.
I wanted to find out what are the most current hair styles for 2008. I was curious what was in style if you had short hair, medium length hair, or long hair. The reviews are in, read below to see what I found out!
If you have short hair the crop is always a good look. But this spring it is all about longer layers with your crop look. With the longer layers you add a lot of texture and volume. You can choose to straighten your layers, of piece them out with a little curl for a whole different look.
If you have medium length hair your goal is to go from sleek which still looks hot, to flair which is added a lot of soft curl to create extra volume. There are two different ways to wear this style. One way is to add a bunch of tight curls so your hair is curled up just above your shoulders, which can be worn during the day, or dressed up in the evening. The other way is to sweep the hair to one side for more of a formal look. You would use pins to keep all hair to one side and then have the front of the hair sweep across your forehead.
For the ladies with long hair sleek is always in style. For a sleek look you will need a flat iron and some shine products to achieve the over all look. The other way to go with long hair is barrel curls. Barrel curls can help thinner hair look thicker and add a lot of volume to longer hair. Each hairstyle can be worn during the day, or into the evening!
So you want to know what is in style for high fashion foot wear in 2008. Well here is what I found: for the ladies it is all about straps and height. We are not talking about one or two straps it is more like five or six different sizes and shapes. Bold and beautiful and yes metallic is still in! All of the new spring collections are very sophisticated with a lot of modernism thrown in. They take you back to the 70’s or 80’s but they have a lot more style now then ever before. Paired with a grey or blue dress these shoes draw all the attention to them!
Ralph Lauren is not afraid of color and his new style incorporates bright pinks and yellows for spring 2008. These bright colors are added into his collection along with black to create his own modern style. Now you won’t catch me in these styles. I am still getting used to walking with a higher heel. Also I don’t think I even own anything that is bright yellow or pink. Maybe I need to step it up with my shoe style, but for right now I am happy. My next step is to purchase some pointy toed shoes that I can walk in!
